Facilities
The Hermitage now very much benefits from a £1.5 million re-development completed in October 2010 with state-of-the-art facilities. The Architect of the re-development was Hulme Upright, Stoke-on-Trent, and the contractor was M.J Barrett of Uttoxeter.

The new spacious bedrooms at The Hermitage offer en-suite facilities. In addition, each bedroom will have a wall-mounted digital television, an internet connection for a computer and a telephone point. All bedrooms are on the ground floor, and are wheelchair accessible. Computer equipment connections are provided in all new bedrooms and assistance will be given to help residents to keep in touch with family and friends using computers. Wifi is available in the lounge.

The extended lounge and dining room facilities will offer comfortable seating and views out to the gardens. A further lounge will be available for residents to meet family and friends away from the main areas in the home.
During the redevelopment the kitchen was fully modernised and extended, and a new bathroom and laundry built. Under floor heating in the communal areas will help maintain comfortable room temperatures throughout the day.
The gardens are in the process of being landscaped and plenty of seating will be provided for residents to relax and enjoy the wildlife in beautiful, peaceful surroundings.
