Daily Life

We believe that each resident in the home has the right to continue with hobbies and interests as far as possible and to live life to the full.  The Hermitage allows residents to maintain their independence whilst enjoying a wide range of facilities in a well-managed, well-maintained, modern caring environment.

The Hermitage has well-established links with the local community and the residents are often invited to various functions.  St. Mary’s CE School (opposite the home) regularly invites the residents to school plays, concerts and sports days.   A number of our residents continue to enjoy life by spending valuable time with family and friends outside the home.  A range of activities are offered in-house free of charge, such as exercise to music and live entertainment.  Residents are encouraged to play dominoes, whist, scrabble and other games as they wish. There are weekly visits from agents selling books and gifts, for residents to independently shop without leaving the home. The home is looking to develop new ideas for activities with its residents now the re-development work is complete.

There are no restrictions on visiting times to the home, family and friends are made very welcome anytime.
